Trained in the architecture faculty at the University of Porto (FAUP), Nuno Brandão completed his studies at the Herzog & de Meuron architecture studio in Switzerland and in the studio of José Fernando Gonçalves e Paulo Providência in Porto, Portugal.
In 1998 he set up his own studio, the result of winning an international public competition for the Central Library of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences at the New University of Lisbon. He also won the SIC 2004 best new architect and express merit award.
His work currently covers both public and private projects on different scales, designing houses and community housing as well as public buildings, such as the Faculty of Arts at the University of Porto, the sports and e-learning facilities at the University of Porto and the design for the Caminha Municipal Library.
His personal way of looking at architecture is marked by a very strict minimalism and visual impact and by designs based on geometry that can be identified in almost all his work.

Space
The proposal for Porcelanosa’s Antic Colonial stand attempts to simulate a fluid domestic environment in which all the spaces can be reached, while at the same time being contemporary and comfortable.
The area is arranged around a block of polished Persian white marble, which, inside, houses the bathroom space.
This central element is the main feature of the space, organising it while at the same time capturing the attention. On the floor around the central block, Eden 1L Texture Nut natural wood parquet has been used, accompanied by different marble elements used to mark out the different space functions.
On one side we find a living area while on the opposite site is the bedroom. Its organisation is informal, aimed at a younger target group, without renouncing comfort or elegance.
To help achieve this atmosphere, pieces by the British designer Jasper Morrison have been chosen. His work and research in the area of fittings is very suitable for the proposed environment. These accessories will organise and decorate the surroundings.
