There are few days left before Christmas arrives and the year ends. These are days for getting together with family and loved ones, but also for taking a look at the year we leave behind and for seeing with confidence that New Year that is about to begin.
For L’Antic Colonial, 2013 has been a year full of pleasant surprises. In addition to the good economic results that we’ve had along with the other Porcelanosa Group companies, we have been able to consolidate our brand throughout the world thanks to the increase in our exports. And what is most important for us; every day, more professionals are becoming increasingly aware that in all the Porcelanosa Stores around the world, they can find high-quality natural products at a very competitive price.
Therefore we want to go over this past 2013, so that it serves as a boost for a 2014 full of projects to be carried out.
For L’Antic Colonial, the year practically began with the inauguration of Porcelanosa’s XX International Show. This is a fair that defines the lines to be followed by all the Group’s firms, and which has around 12,000 people visiting it. For us, this year was special because the opening ceremony was held at our showroom. L’Antic Colonial committed itself again to the “Signature Spaces”, and we were fortunate to have with us the professionals responsible for the areas that have been the focus of our showroom throughout the year. Culdesac, Colección Alexandra, Tomás Alía, Clodagh, Fernando Arteaga, Hector Ruiz Velazquez and Joaquín Torres shared that day with us and explained how they interacted with our materials.
We have launched many innovations in natural materials during 2013, but among all of them the Wood Lovers™ line and the men{H}ir line stand out.
Wood Lovers™ is a communication platform that unleashes L’Antic Colonial’s passion for wood and everything that revolves around it. It aims to inform and inspire architects and interior designers throughout the world with different channels (social networks, the web, newsletter, manifesto…) and a full line of wood floors where the client can choose: color, finish, texture, and format.
On the other hand, men{H}ir is the bathroom accessory line that estudi{H}ac has created for L’Antic Colonial. The firm which has José Manuel Ferrero as its head has designed free-standing and over-countertop washbasins, different sets of cabinets, a shower tray, and other elements such as mirrors or shelves that have elegance, sobriety, and pure shapes in common, inspiring itself in Stonehenge. The line will continue during 2014 with new elements.
The Cersaie fair is another milestone that L’Antic Colonial has marked on its calendar. During the last week in September, the firm participated along with Porcelanosa Group in the exhibition held in Bologna and that is already a worldwide reference in the sector. This year, L’Antic Colonial had the intention of providing a special architectural style in its space, and featured the design of Fran Silvestre, one of today’s most important architects. You can see what our stand looked like in this post.
In terms of novelties, 2013 has been the year we have launched Linkfloor, the new flooring with textures that simulate the look of wood or carpet in order to achieve settings that are exclusive and full of charm. It is a highly resistant and easy to install product that it is already starting to succeed throughout the world. Other products that have also been introduced this year are the Atelier, Elements, and Fabric mosaic lines, or the new parquet series Eden Texture and Eden Mini.
Azrama has given us the last surprise of the year. The accessory line designed by Clodagh has been awarded with one of the Best of Year Awards handed out by the prestigious New York magazine Interior Design. The event, which was held on December 5 at the Frank Gehry IAC building in New York, was attended by representatives of the firm and the USA Porcelanosa delegation, in order to pick up the first prize in the Bath: Fixtures category.
