The warmth and timelessness of natural wood unite the different spaces designed by the Portuguese architect Nuno Brandão for L´Antic Colonial, on the occasion of the 21st PORCELANOSA Group International Exhibition.
The signature space designed by Nuno Brandão reflects the author’s particular way of understanding architecture, based on geometry and visual impact, and above all minimalism. The architect’s proposal simulates a domestic space with soft and white colours, composed of a living room and bedroom and between them, a bathroom.
A Polished White Persian marble block by L’Antic Colonial is the space’s main focus and the home to the bathroom. The rest of the rooms are covered with Eden 1L Texture Nut natural wood floors by L’Antic Colonial, accompanied by white marble walls which separate the different settings.
Nuno Brandão decorated the space using pieces by the British designer Jasper Morrison, which were ideal for informal and contemporary, yet comfortable spaces for young people.
Nuno Brandão currently works in a studio which covers both public and private projects. Amongst his well-known projects are the some buildings of the University of Porto such as the Faculty of Arts, the sports and e-learning facilities and the Municipal Library of Caminha. These projects have earned him awards such as the Premio Revelación and the Express Merit/SIC Award in 2004, among others.
