L’Antic Colonial and Porcelanosa Group have had the pleasure of participating in the refurbishment of one of New York’s most historic buildings. It is the Essex House Hotel, located right in front of Central Park, which has been renovated in order to be adapted to modern times without losing the essence of its decoration.
The building is located at the city’s cultural heart, just steps away from Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Columbus Circle, the theater district, and 5th Avenue.
Opened in 1931, it is considered as a National Heritage and inside it, in addition to luxurious and comfortable rooms, one can admire from crafted ornamented doors to exquisite wood paneling, to a great hall decorated in the Beaux Arts style.
The Vision Design Firm, with Dan Nelson, has been in charge of refurbishing the space. They are specialists in great luxury hotels, resorts, spas, and restaurants; Vision Design is characterized for using high quality materials in its works and for carrying out exquisite designs with a very personal decor.
On this occasion, Dan Nelson has worked with L’Antic Colonial for the JW Marriott Essex House Hotel project. Both the Beige Sandstone Classico 40x80x2 cm sandstone and the Modern Louvre Siena 27x189x1.5 cm parquet have been used as wall and floor coverings in the fitness and spa reception area. It is a bold and modern combination that creates a perfect counterpoint to the rest of the hotel facilities.
